OMF Honors Severe ME Day 2022
Today, August 8, 2022, marks Severe ME Day. On this day of solidarity and recognition, Open Medicine Foundation (OMF) would like to shine a bright light on all those who live in darkness. Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) affects over 20 million worldwide. Now millions more are affected due to Long COVID.
It is estimated that 25 percent of those with ME/CFS are severely ill. Many cannot leave their beds and in some cases are tube fed, unable to care for themselves.
Many people with severe ME/CFS live inside one room, and the view stays the same day in and day out. These are the many views of people with ME/CFS:
